Our Vision: To increase the number of women of color in the digital space by empowering girls of color ages 7 to 17 to become innovators in STEM fields, leaders in their communities, and builders of their own futures through exposure to computer science and technology. To provide African-American youth with the skills to occupy some of the 1.4 million computing job openings expected to be available in the U.S. by 2020, and to train 1 million girls by 2040.

Black Girls CODE Presents: #SummerOfCode2019!
Our day camps provide five to ten days of hands-on, project-based instruction, where young ladies engage in tech instruction. The camp meets from 9AM-4PM with lunch, breaks, community building, field trips and of course coding! Our camps offer a space where girls can learn computer science and coding principles in the company of other girls, with mentorship from women they can see themselves becoming. A graduation ceremony is held on the last day from 4-6PM.
This year Black Girls CODE is thrilled to provide you a glimpse into the future through our #FutureTechBoss Series which will highlight Tech Divas from chapters all across the US!
For the past seven years, Black Girls CODE has empowered our girls in cities across the country (and in Johannesburg, South Africa) to become future leaders, innovators, and creators in the technology ecosystem and beyond. Starting this Black History Month, we are excited to give some of these Tech Divas an opportunity to share their stories with the world; to shine a light on their hopes, dreams, and aspirations for the future via our #FUTURETECHBOSS campaign.
We hope this campaign will serve as both motivation and empowerment for the future generation of tech divas and show the world that black girls can code and do so much more. As we center our tech divas as #FUTURETECHBOSSES we give notice to the world that the future is on the horizon and our girls are ready to take the reins.
